Carol Miller Obituary

Carol Ann Miller, 81, of Wellington, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 due to complications from diabetes and cancer. She was born on January 9, 1940, to the late Helen (Kauffman) and Melvin James in Westlake, Ohio.

After her mother died in 1946, she went to live with her Aunt Pearl and Uncle Luther in Altoona, PA. She returned to Cook Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio in 1958. She assisted her father with her younger brother Kevin. She met her future husband Richard D. Miller. They were married in Elyria, Ohio on May 5, 1962. Their happy union brought five children (Helen, twins Richard and Glenn, Cheryl, and Carol). They raised their children in Wellington, Ohio.

Carol enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and friend’s children. Her kindness included assisting friends by taking them to doctor’s appointments and to the grocery store. Carol liked gardening and cooking. It was always a must for her to bring lemon meringue pie and German chocolate cake to family gatherings. She did crossword and word search puzzles. Carol was a pro at talking on the phone to family and friends! She was especially fond of animals.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her son Richard Derek Miller Jr.

Carol is survived by her husband Richard Miller of 59 years; daughter Helen (Tina) Stiefmiller, and grandchildren Zachary and Alexandra; son Glenn Miller and grandson Glenn Derek, and great grandchildren Derek, Mileeya, and Kaiah; daughter Cheryl Miller; daughter Carol Ann (Tim) Horta, and granddaughter Taylor and great grandson Major.

Carol will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
