Clifford W. “Cliff” Dalton, 67, of New London, Ohio, died on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Stein Hospice. He was born on July 17, 1954 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Inez (née Watts) and Whitfield “Gene” Dalton.
Cliff was raised and lived in Willard, Ohio for years and later moved to Hilton Head Island, SC where he resided for twenty years. Cliff had worked for RR Donnelly & Sons Company in Willard and as an HVAC technician for Carolina Contractors on the Island. He absolutely loved to work, but in his free time, he enjoyed building two-seater experimental airplanes. The last six years of his life were spent back home in New London, Ohio near his family.
Cliff served in the United States Air Force during the early 1970s. He was proud of his service to his country and had an inherent sense of patriotism.
He is survived by his two children, Tara (Brandon) Hall of Ontario, Ohio and Chance Dalton of New London, Ohio; two grandchildren, Bailey Hall and Braxton Hall; and three siblings, Sandra (Fred) Capelle of New London, Ohio, Brenda Martin of Virginia, and Jimmy Dalton of Kentucky. Additionally, Cliff will be missed by several nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends, and his loyal chihuahua, Maria.
In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Dalton, who died in infancy, and a brother, Michael Dalton.
Cliff’s family will receive guests at Eastman Funeral Home, located at 200 West Main Street, New London, Ohio 44857 on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. In lieu of flowers and memorial contributions, Cliff’s family asks that in his memory, friends and family should stop what you are doing and call someone to tell them you love them.
