Connie R. Ott, 64, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, March 21, 2021. She was born on July 23, 1956 in Collins, Ohio, to the now deceased Lyle W. and Dorothy C. (Gurki) Smith. Connie was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Western Reserve High School in 1974.
She had a knack for artistic inclinations, including painting and cake decorating. She owned and operated the former Back Door Florist shop in Wakeman, Ohio before working at Fisher-Titus in the admitting department. After Fisher-Titus, Connie joined Huron County Job and Family Services, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and had a special place in her heart for animals, including rescues.
Survivors include her children, Dustin L. (Callie) Baker of Huron, Ohio, and Westin S. Baker of Vermilion, Ohio; siblings, Ron Smith of Pennsylvania, John Smith of California, and Cathy Baker of Texas; and her grandchildren, Lyle, and Marlo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Ott in 2004; sister, Caren Lefevre; and brother, George “Buck” Smith.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio where a service will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 beginning at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitors to the funeral home are reminded to bring and wear a mask and follow all current mass gathering guidelines.
