Creighton T. Staschke, 84, of Norwalk passed away unexpectedly on June 27th, 2020 at Fairview Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on October 20, 1935 in Fremont, Ohio to the late Raymond and Helen (Cressman) Staschke. Creighton was a 1954 graduate of New London High School.
He served his country as a member of the Army National Guard and drove truck for more than 30 years for Yellow Freight before his retirement. After retirement, he continued to work for several years with Price Metal and others. Aside from his career, Creighton enjoyed golfing and family vacations to South Carolina. He golfed on the Thursday morning golf league at Eagle Creek and enjoyed being with his friends at the Bronson Conservation. He was an active member of the Norwalk Eagles and the Bronson Conservation League.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Karla (Rice) Staschke of Norwalk; sons, Brett (Denise) Staschke of Kingstree SC and Chad Staschke of Mt. Pleasant SC; daughter, Brooke (Brian Garrett) Staschke of Norwalk; granddaughters, Nichole (Brian) Hance of Bellevue and Elise Garrett of Norwalk; great grandchildren, Addison, Emma, and Wally Hance; brother, Gordon (Sue) Staschke of Greenwich; sisters in-law, Sally Staschke of New London and Linda (Mike) DeMarco of Sandusky; brother in-law, Ronnie (Marilyn) Rice of Tucson, AZ and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Helen (Cressman) Staschke; brother, Scott Staschke and niece, Erin Staschke.
An outdoor memorial service will be held at the Bronson-Norwalk Conservation Club, 295 Townline Road 151, Norwalk, OH 44857 on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 beginning at 10 a.m. Visitors are encouraged to practice social distancing and follow mass gathering guidelines. Following the 10 am service, a memorial visitation and opportunity to greet the family will be held inside the Club (upstairs) with a lunch following the visitation portion as we continue to memorialize and celebrate Creighton’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed the Bronson-Norwalk Conservation Club, 295 Townline Road 151, Norwalk, OH 44857.
