Dale V. Norton 73, of Elyria died Saturday, November 26, 2022. He was born July 1, 1949, in Oberlin to the late Esther (Mull) and Herman Norton. Dale enjoyed his childhood growing up on the family farm in Pittsfield. He graduated from Wellington High School, Class of 1967 then served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War until 1973 when he began working at Nordson Corporation until 2000.
Dale was a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, where he enjoyed spending time with fellow parishioners, working bingo and going on bus trips to the casinos. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent De Paul Society, he was a true sports enthusiast, especially coaching his children throughout their sports careers.
Dale is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cindy (Paul) Norton; 5 children, Joe (Tracey) Norton, Tom (Rosalie) Norton, Maria (Jim) Baumer, Theresa (Kenny) Barr and Michael (Lindsey Parker) Norton; 3 grandchildren, Klair, Kristen and Bernie; siblings, George (Cindy) Norton, Chuck (Sherry) Norton, Perry Norton and Martha Shreves as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Sharon Norton and Brother-in-law, Guy Shreves.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 2-4 and 5:30-8 PM with a Rosary Service being prayed at 5:00 PM at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Monday, December 5, 2022, at the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035 with burial taking place at Calvary Cemetery with Military rites being performed by the VFW Post#1079. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. The family would like to thank the Cleveland VA Hospital and Western Reserve Hospice for the fine care their loved one received during the decline of his health.
