Daniel Joseph Watson, 71, of Olmsted Falls died on Monday, March 9, 2020 in Westlake. Born in Springfield, Ohio on January 23, 1949, he was the son of the late Burrus “Whitey” and Ruth (nee Jump) Watson. He was a 1967 Wellington High School graduate. Dan also attended the University of Dayton, and graduated from The University of Akron with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Dan proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during Vietnam. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with family. Dan was an avid Cleveland sports fan as well. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and the sometimes ornery twinkle in his eye.
Dan is survived by his loving children, Daniel (Karen) Watson of North Royalton, Joseph Watson of Broadview Heights, and Brandy (Christopher) Gregg of Berea; grandchildren, Christina, Julia (Joe), Maya, Gavyn, Noah and Sophia; siblings, Sherry (Jim) Ward, Larry Watson, Craig (Diane) Watson, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, beginning at 11 a.m. at Grace CMA, 7393 Pearl Rd, Middleburg Heights, 44130. A graveside service will follow beginning at 2 p.m., at Greenwood Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Wellington, with military honors. Dan’s brother, Pastor Craig Watson, will officiate. Norton-Eastman Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
