Daniel R. “Butch” Gilger, 63, of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on October 16, 2021 at Fisher Titus Medical Center from a five-year battle with multiple myeloma. Butch was born on January 20, 1958 to the late Betty (Echelbarger) and John Gilger.
Butch graduated from Plymouth High School in 1976. He was the owner of Met’s Machine Shop in Mansfield, Ohio for the past 25 years. He enjoyed farming, helping with the Plymouth FFA Alumni, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Barb (Bond) Gilger, whom he married on June 21, 1980; son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Jami Gilger; son-in-law, Jason Putt; grandchildren, Jacob Putt, Hayley Putt, Brooklyn Gilger, and Aubrey Gilger; sister-in-law, Sue (Bob) Cuppy and sister, Sandy.
In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Putt; and sister, Vicki Gilger.
His family will receive guests at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street, Greenwich, Ohio 44837, on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Edwards Grove Cemetery.
