Debra Steckler Cutter Obituary

Debra Jean Steckler Cutter, passed away in the care of SouthernCare Hospice after a long illness. Born on September 29, 1949 to William and Mary Ann Steckler in Pittsburg PA

Debra moved to Elyria in late 1950’s and attended Elyria High School.

She married the love of her life Robert Dick Cutter when she was 17 after dating since she was 14.

They moved from Maine to Hawaii and then back to Ohio. They lived in Elyria until 2000 when they moved to LaGrange, Ohio. She loved to sit outside with Dick and just enjoy the quiet.

Debby worked at Higbees, Sotz-home wood burning Stove Company, and Banner Vending. Debby made friends everywhere she worked and everywhere she went. Debby loved gardening, reading, camping, boating, garage sales, and shopping. She loved going out in the antique cars with Dick to car shows, weekend events, or just a fun drive.

Debby was very active in the antique car club. She was the secretary of the club and she and Dick prepared many events and trips for the club. She loved the car club, all of the friends and enjoyed including her granddaughters in events for the club.

Debby’s granddaughters were the light of her life. She loved spending time with them. When they were little she cared for them weekly. She would take them to story time, the Duck Pond and the Metro Parks for the weekly activities. They would spend the night and often spend the weekend with them at their boat.

Debby has left behind her loving husband, Robert Cutter; son, Daniel Cutter; daughter, Paula Staffeld (Roger); granddaughters Hannah and Hailey Staffeld; sister, Sandra Conrad; and brother-in-law, John S. Cutter III. She was preceded in death by her parents William Michael and Mary Ann (nee Kabutka) Steckler.
