Dennis Michael Demcho

Dennis Michael Demcho, 78, of Ellenboro, North Carolina died on May 24, 2021 at Rutherford Regional Hospital in Rutherfordton, North Carolina.  He was born on September 25, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Michael and Ann (Poharsky) Demcho.   

Dennis worked as a Teacher, Dean, Superintendent, and was Principal at St. Paul High School, retiring as Superintendent from Coshocton Schools in 1995.  Earlier in his career he worked at Westinghouse in Cleveland and for his parents refinishing houses.  At one time he owned his own golf repair shop and worked at a few different golf courses.    

Dennis enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, his wife Kathleen “Kathy” (Woodworth) Demcho.  He loved golf, hunting, family, friends, and church and enjoyed NASCAR.  He was known for his smile and the sparkle in his eyes.  Dennis was a Godly man with strong faith and an aptitude for helping others.    

Survivors include his wife of over 26 years, Kathleen “Kathy” (Woodworth) Demcho; daughter, Lisa Demcho of Texas; brother, Michael (Bonnie) Demcho of Brecksville, Ohio; nephew, Mike (Lynn) Demcho of Cincinnati, Ohio; nieces, Shelly (Michael) Verdile of Brunswick, Ohio and Krissy (Graeme) Brown of Canada.    

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna and nephews, Kenny and Steven.  

Visitation will be on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2021 at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio 44857 from 4 – 6 p.m.  A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. Ken Morman officiating.  Burial will follow the mass in North Fairfield Cemetery.
