Dennis A. Schaffer

Dennis A, Schaffer, of Norwalk, Ohio, son of Doris and John Schaffer, passed away Thursday at Fisher-Titus Hospital after a brief illness. Dennis was in the service, loved nature, especially spraying the fields while working for Sunrise, paving away outdoors for Norwalk Concrete, and enjoying the lawn mower on a beautiful day for family members, (but never when the Browns were playing).   

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Doris Schaffer, his sister Angela Schlotterer, and his great-nephew, Jude Linder. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Francis Schaffer, grandmother and grandfather, Raymond and Marguerite White, uncles, Fr. Arnold Schaffer, Fred, (Dorthey) Pete (Pauline), Joe (Marianne), Bernard (Mary), his aunts, Sister Mary Lenarda, Sister Francis Marie, Magaret (Chet Wasiniak), and Ophelia. 

He leaves his son Dennis Schaffer Jr. (Melissa Buurma); his grandchildren, Makinley 16, Teagan 13, and Bryar 10. He is survived by his brothers, Mark (Diane Cutnaw), twin brother Donald, Randy (Brandi Weiser), Scott (Cheryl Phillips), Jody, and Matthew (Jody Nilges); his sisters, Sister Carolyn Marie, (Sister of Notre Dame), Lynnette (Eric Baldwin), Michelle (Roger Jones), and Brenda (Carl Geyer); uncles, Leonard, and Alex; 27 nieces and nephews; and 33 great-nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call on Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, OH. His funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Settlement Rd., Peru Twp., Ohio, Fr. Christopher Jesudhason, officiating, with burial to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
