Sib was passionate about helping others and community service.  He served 4 years as a Wadsworth City Councilman and was instrumental in designing the Wadsworth Shade Tree Commission.  For 23 years he served as a Park Commissioner on the Medina County Park Board.

Sylbert’s legacy will be one filled with memories of his gentle spirit, positive outlook, love and respect of nature, faith, and aptitude for teaching and serving others.  He was a gentleman in all ways and will be missed by those who survive him including his loving wife, Cheryl (Evans) Strimple; daughters, Marty (Rob) and Tiffany (Tim); sons, Derek (Jenn), Darrin (Jodee) and Danny (Christine); sisters, Pat (Lorin) and Evelyn; 12 grandchildren who lovingly knew him as “Pappy”; 14 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and his fur babies, “Murphy” and “Ollie”.
