Elenore G. (Esch) Beck

Elenore G. Beck, 99, of Bonita Springs, FL passed away peacefully on February 8, 2020.   She was born on February 6, 1921 in Detroit, MI to the late Louis Carl and Bertha (VanSloff) Esch.  She graduated from Commerce High School, (Detroit, MI).

Elenore married Wilbur Beck and together they raised 5 children.  They enjoyed 63 wonderful years together.  In 1955 they purchased a farm and relocated to North Fairfield, Ohio.  In 1982 the couple retired to Bonita Springs, FL. 

She enjoyed porcelain painting for more than 60 years, cake decorating, playing bridge, Bingo and Pokeno.

Elenore had worked for the Shelby Air Depot, was a legal secretary for many years for the Huron County Probate Court and was Director of the Huron County CETA Program. 

She was a member of the North Fairfield United Methodist Church, where she was a Youth Leader; Bonita Springs United Methodist Church; Ladies of the Elks Lodge #2753, where she served as President and Secretary; Porcelain Artists (FL) and Mansfield (OH) Porcelain Painters.

Survivors include her children, Barbara J. (Gerald) Sweeting of Thousand Oaks, CA, Patricia A. (James) Sweeting of Estero, FL, Susan L. (Dennis) Magill of North Fairfield, OH and Gordon W. (Pam) Beck of Cape Coral, FL; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur L. Beck and son, Ronald L. Beck.

Friends may call on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 4 – 7 pm @ Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk where a service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11 am.  Burial will follow the service in Steuben Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to BVA Hospice, Mrs. Lani Songco, 315 Arden Ave., Suite 25, Glendale, CA 91203.  Condolences may be expressed online by visiting www.walkereastmanheydingerfh.com
