Emily L. Resor, 82, of Norwalk, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 in Twilight Gardens Nursing Home. She was born on March 4, 1938 to the late Emil and Gladys M. (Landis) Wolf in New London, Ohio, and was a lifelong area resident. Emily worked at Apples Deli in Norwalk, Ohio, she worked several years in home healthcare in New London, Ohio and for many years, she worked as a seamstress for Thomas Creative Apparel, Inc., New London, Ohio, until her retirement in the early 2000’s. She was a member of New Covenant Light House Ministries in Norwalk, Ohio.
Emily enjoyed playing bingo, Yahtzee, watching game shows, crossword puzzles, playing cards, traveling to Amish country, going out to dinner, crafting, and dancing with her husband, Roy. She had a kind and adventurous spirit and enjoyed being read to by her loved ones, and she really enjoyed a great cup of coffee. Emily’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family, including her siblings. She also loved her children and grandchildren very much.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Roy L. Resor of Norwalk, Ohio, by her children, Carol J. (Douglas) Ashcroft, Kimberly A. (Mark) Barnett, Sr., Laura L. (Timothy) Blystone, all of Norwalk, Ohio and Tonya M. (Willard) Shupe of Sandusky, Ohio. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, by many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Emily is preceded in death by her son, Frederick in infancy, by her daughter Cheryl and baby boy Resor in infancy, by her daughter, Peggy Sue Fairchild in 2014, and by her siblings, Kenny, Alfred, Jim, Hazel, Helen, and Kate.
A drive thru visitation to show support for the family will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with an outdoor service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. Norwalk, Ohio. Joseph Lyons and Tim Blystone will officiate. Visitors should enter using the funeral home’s east entrance, remain in their vehicles, briefly greet the family, and exit using the west exit. Visitors are also encouraged to wear a mask and practice all social distancing and mass gathering guidelines.
