Esther I (Didion) Crist

Esther I. Crist, 95, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2020 at Gaymont Nursing Home.  She was born on December 31, 1924 in Norwalk to the late Andrew and Isabel (Miller) Didion.   

Esther loved people.  She looked forward to her many trips to the Olive Garden, PNC, Drug Mart, Wal-Mart, McDonalds, and Schild’s IGA, where she would visit with her many friends.  She was a longtime member of St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church where she also served as part of the altar and rosary society.      

Survivors include her children, Robert (Alice) Crist of Norwalk and Thomas (Susan) Crist of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Brenda (Greg) Mahan, Deborah (Ron) Fernandez, Brian (Laura) Crist, Diane (Ryan) McLoughlin, Michael (Michelle Cacioppo) Crist and Timothy (Michelle) Crist; great grandchildren, Cian and Cara Mahan, Konrad and Breanna Logar, Ryder and Asher Crist, Jaylyn McLoughlin, Jessica and Jaret Crist and great-great grandchildren, Liam and Hunter Logar.    

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her late husband Raymond H. Crist in 1997 and siblings, Karl, Marcella and Leona Didion.   

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 beginning at 2 P.M. at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 38 W. League St., Norwalk, burial will follow the mass in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.  Visitors are reminded to wear a mask and practice social distancing.  For those unable to attend the mass and graveside committal service, they will both be recorded and uploaded later in the day to the funeral home website.
