Gene O. Nell

Gene O. Nell, 88, of Elyria, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at O’Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville. Born in Oberlin on September 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Alice (nee Edmonds) and Lloyd Zimmerman.

Gene graduated from Elyria High School and went on to work in home health care for many years. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and crocheting afghans for her grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored. She will be remembered for her loving and giving heart.

Gene’s memory will live on in those she leaves behind; children, Chris Franklin (James Savage) of Maryland and Linda (Will) Morrison of Elyria; grandchildren, Janet (Adam) Grimm, Jennifer Colbert (Conor Burke) and Darrell Franklin (Kristy Roche); 6 great grandchildren and dear friend, Darrell Deiterich. She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Lee Nell.
