Gerald “Jerry” E. Eberly, 88, residing in Norwalk, passed away Sunday evening, June 5, 2022, at home.
Jerry was born on March 13, 1934, in Willard to the late Herbert and Irene (Stockmaster) Eberly.
Jerry was a 1952 graduate of Willard High School and was a dedicated bricklayer for 44 years, before retiring in 1996. He was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Eagles, the Local 46 UW of Ohio, and a 3rd and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed playing cards, horseshoes, golf, baseball, gardening, and wintering in Florida with his wife.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marty (Wise) Eberly, who he married in 1958; daughter, Jill (Bennet Wang) Eberly of Chicago, Illinois; 4 step-grandchildren; sister, Rose Kerhes of New Washington, and brother, Robert (Teri) Eberly of Michigan.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Eberly, who passed in 1991, and sisters, Mary Ann Heydinger, JoAn Graffice, and Patty Bauman.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home before a procession to St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 38 W. League Street, Norwalk, OH 44857 on Friday, June 10 for a 10:30 am Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
