Harvey L Stierhoff

Norwalk, Ohio – Harvey L. Stierhoff, 89, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2019 at Stein Hospice Service in Sandusky, Ohio.  He was born on June 19, 1930 to the late John and Elsie (Stacker) Stierhoff in Oxford Township, Ohio.  Harvey owned and operated Harvey’s Appliance Service for several years, and he retired in 1995 from Certainteed Corporation.  Harvey enjoyed playing cards, camping, traveling, All Ohio sports, with a special appreciation for the Cleveland Cavaliers.  He was a scout leader and won the Outstanding Senior Citizen Award with his wife, Gladys in 2006.  Harvey volunteered at the senior center and served as an Auxiliary Policeman.  He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his family.   Harvey is survived by his children, Judy Gerber of Monroeville, Ohio, Margie (Howard) Simon of Norwalk, Ohio and Ron (April) Stierhoff of The Colony, Texas;  by his siblings, Beulah Kelbley of Burgoon, Ohio and Loretta (Marvin) Gerber of Castalia, Ohio.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Brian (Melissa) Gerber, Angela (Brett) Gies, Trent Gerber, Shondra (Adam) Mattos, Sabine Stierhoff, and Monique (Jason) Overs; and by 5 great-grandchildren, Emmalyn, Arianna, Major, Halo, and Neveah.  In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Gladys (Nickoli) Stierhoff in 2013; by his 12-year-old brother Johnny Stierhoff; sister, Gladys Drake; son-in-law, David Gerber, and Grandson, Steven Gerber.  There will be no visitation.  Private services and interment will be held.  Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.  Online condolences may be made by going to www.walkereastmanheydingerfh.com.
