Helen Ann Hopewell, 78, a lifelong resident of Wellington, died Monday, June 20, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Born on January 19, 1938 in Wellington, Helen was the daughter of the late Holsey and Mary M. (nee Gardner) Rucker.
Helen was a graduate of Wellington High School; she worked for Rockwell Industries and retired in the early 90's. She was very crafty and enjoyed drawing, crocheting, and cooking and baking homemade meals. Helen will be remembered as a hardworking and generous woman who was devoted to and loved her family. When it came to family there was no distinction, she made everyone part of her family.
Helen is survived by her loving children, Kim Hopewell, of Wellington, Reginald Hopewell, of Lorain, Heather Sutton, and Guy Hopewell both of Wellington; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Mary E. Gardner of Wellington, Judith Clayton of Cleveland, and Arthur Rucker of Elyria. Helen was preceded in death by her brother Holsey Rucker Jr, son-in-law Henry Sutton, and a granddaughter.
