Irene Baker Sallee, 90, of Monroeville, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Laurels of New London. She was born May 12, 1931, in Floyd County, KY to the late Rozellie (Hicks) and Samuel Hale. Mrs. Sallee was employed at the Pioneer Rubber Company in Willard for 39 years until it closed. She was a member of the Greenwich First Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Irene is survived by her daughters, Janet Baker Eden, of Sandusky, and Brenda (Rick) Whiteside, of Monroeville; 11 grandchildren, Rodney Parlett, Crystal Wallace, Pam Parlett, Randy Baker, Jenny Baker, Dawn Troike, Rick Whiteside, Jr., Amy Kiley, Michelle Crawford, Jason Eden and Bev Eden; 19 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren and 4 brothers, Samuel Hale of Plymouth, Henry, John T., and Grover Hale, all of Greenwich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Baker in 1988; daughter, Patricia Parlett; son, Norman K. Baker, as well as several siblings.
Private family services were held at Greenwich First Baptist Church with burial at Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven.
