James Donley Obituary

James K. Donley passed away at the age of 69 on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland.

Born on January 14, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Glenn and Betty (Wallace) Donley. After he moved to West Union, WV and graduated from Doddridge High School he then joined the service and met the love of his life Gail Britt. Together they moved to Elyria where he has resided. James served in the US Marine Corps with one tour of duty in Vietnam.

James retired from Ford Motor Company in 1997 after 30 ½ years; he was a quality control inspector. He was a member of the Lorain Rifle and Pistol Club and lifetime member of the NRA.

Always passionate about the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. James also liked watching sports, especially football.

Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Gail; son, Stephen Donley of Elyria; siblings, John Donley of Elizabeth, WV, Eddie (Peg) Donley of West Union, WV, Joanne (Terry) Ross of West Union, WV and Palma Keppinger of WA; loving mother-in-law, Bonnie Britt of Ruggles; many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by son, James Michael Donley and sister, Donna Lewis.

Friends will be greeted from 11 am Saturday until the 12:30 pm service at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, with Rev. Chad Britt officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland County Memorial Park with military honors.
