James DeForest Seeley, 88, of Wellington, died Friday, October 30, 2020 at his residence. Born January 14, 1932 in Penfield, he was the son of the late Mildred (nee McConnell) and Charles Seeley.
He was a 1950 graduate of Brighton High School. Jim proudly served our Country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955, during the Korean War. Upon his return from the service, he worked at Ridge Tool, Cleveland Steel and after 32 years delivering milk for Parsons'/Smith's Dairies, he retired.
He enjoyed gardening, antiquing and visiting! Hopefully you were lucky enough to share a tale or two with him! He was a lifelong member of Brighton United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Vivian (nee Conklin) Seeley; children, James (Carol) Seeley, Jr., Kathy (Greg) Adam and Lori (Patrick) Walsh; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and sister, Marge Funk.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jean, Jo, Lawrence and David.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington. Private family services will be held at 1:30 p.m. and will be available for viewing as a webcast at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com, Military burial will follow at Brighton Township Cemetery. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and all attending are asked to wear masks.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Brighton United Methodist Church.
