James M. “Jim” Horner
February 2, 1959 – September 13, 2021
James M. “Jim” Horner, 62, residing in Norwalk, passed away peacefully, Monday morning, September 13, 2021 at Heritage Village in Clyde.
Jim was born in Warren, OH on February 2, 1959 to the late James and Angela (Legando) Horner.
Jim was a 1977 graduate of Edison High School. He worked for his father, who owned and operated Horner Construction. He retired from the city of Norwalk street department as a heavy equipment operator. Jim was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers Association and the Norwalk Eagles. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed Nascar races, fishing and watching old westerns, especially John Wayne movies. He was avid football fan who rooted for the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers. Jim especially enjoyed attending his children’s sporting events. He was the type of person who could talk to anyone and his unique sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Horner, whom he married on May 1, 1993; children, Aleah Horner of Milan, Madeline Horner of Norwalk and Nicholas Horner of Norwalk and siblings, Cindy (Kane) Durfey, Joseph Horner, Michael Horner and Matthew Horner, all of Huron.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 12 pm until the time of funeral services at 2 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. Burial will take place at a later date at Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron.
