Joanna Schoren

Joanna Schoren, 92, of Westlake, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at MetroHealth in Cleveland. Born on April 16, 1926 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Ethel (nee Mohler) and John Figler. Joanna had resided in Parma and North Olmsted before moving to Pittsfield Twp. in 1997.

She had worked for the Ohio Bell Company for a brief time before raising her family and was a member of Saint Patrick's Parish. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, caring for her house plants, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Joanna and her husband enjoyed camping and fishing at Findley State Park where they served as VIP's.

Joanna is survived by her children, Kathryn Nechvatal, Helen (Barry) Udvardy, Joseph (Ann Marie), Lawrence, James and William (Kathie) Schoren; 9 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 step great-grand child. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Schoren; daughter, Margaret Harnish and brother, John Figler.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. with a time of sharing at 7 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Saint Patricks Parish, 512 North Main Street, Wellington. Father Trask will be officiating and burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery
