Joy M. Sweeting, 85, of North Fairfield, passed peacefully from this life to the next on April 5, 2020 at Gaymont Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 19, 1935 in Salyersville, KY to the late Mose and Ada (Green) Montgomery. Joy moved to Ohio when she was young and graduated from Greenwich High School.
She was a loving wife and wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who enjoyed needlepoint, sewing and shopping.
Survivors include her husband of over 67 years, Richard Sweeting; children, Jeff Sweeting of Shelby and Mark and Steve Sweeting both of North Fairfield; brothers, John Montgomery and Cheryl (Montgomery) Fox; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori (Sweeting) Carpenter; brothers, Jim, Gerald and Rick Montgomery and granddaughter, Holly Douglas.
