June Shawver

June E. Shawver, 77, of Norwalk, died on March 23, 2020 at Twilight Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 12, 1942 in Elyria to the late Wayne W. and Bernice E. (Squire) Wittmer.

June enjoyed genealogy, and volunteerism. She gifted her time and talents in various capacities through opportunities within her church, with Abigail Pregnancy services, within the city of Norwalk, as well as with services for the aging. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, L.G.A.R. (Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic) and the former Berlin/Milan Grange. June had been a writer and reporter for the Lorain Morning Journal, Herald Crier, and was an editor for Corporate Research Inc.

 June is survived by her brother Donald Wittmer, her daughters Laurie Shawver, Elizabeth Springer, Susan Meese, Cathy Nelson, and Daphne Nelson and by her stepson Jeff Shawver as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  June was preceded in death by her late husband William A. Shawver.
