Katheryn Cooper Obituary

Katheryn L. “Katie” Cooper, 30, of Norwalk, Ohio, lost her battle with addiction on June 15, 2022. Katie had fought the disease valiantly for a long time and was an advocate for others facing the same struggles.

Katie was born on January 27, 1992, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She attended Norwalk High School and graduated from ECOT Charter School. Katie enjoyed the arts, especially reading and creative writing. She earned her Associates degree in English with honors from Cuyahoga Community College and she attended Case Western Reserve University. Katie was a talented, published poet who aspired to attain her Ph.D. in English Literature at CWRU and teach creative writing. While in school, Katie worked in the hospitality industry. Her favorite place of work was Der Braumeister restaurant in Cleveland.

Katie was high-spirited, fun loving, and adventurous, with a host of friends. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt who was intelligent, funny, and beautiful.

Katie is survived by her parents, Lisa P. Dale and Gambler (Heidi) Cooper; brother, Trevant (Brittni) Cooper; niece, Reagan Hadley Cooper and nephew Trevant Laramie Cooper, Jr; sister, Sarrah (Jeremy) Honaker; nephew, Chase Alexander Honaker, and niece, Jasmine Rayne Nay; grandfather, Lawrence P. (Kathryn Ryan) Dale; and uncle, Lawrence (Mame) Dale Jr. Katie is also survived by her two cats, “Garth” and “Ellen,” who she adored.

Katie was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Lynda Dale and Leslie Cooper.
