Lois Grosscup Obituary

Lois Marie Grosscup, 87, of Bucyrus, Ohio passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home in Stow, Ohio under hospice care on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Lois was born in Clarksfield, Ohio on October 24, 1933 to the late Willis and Wilma (Clapp) Franklin.  She was a lifelong resident of New London, Ohio.  Lois graduated from New London High School in 1952.

She worked at Maple City Rubber in Norwalk and Fleamasters Flea Market in Fort Myers, Florida for more than 20 years.  She moved back to Ohio in 2003 to be closer to her children.  She enjoyed sitting outside with friends gossiping about the neighborhood. Lois always said she wasn’t nosy, she was birdwatching!  She loved spending time with her family and shopping.  She enjoyed flowers and watching the hummingbirds. Lois was the true meaning of the word mother.  She would fight the devil on the back side of hell for those she loved.  She worked hard to provide for her children and will be forever missed.

Lois is survived by her children; William (Ruth Lyken) Blackert and Debra Blackert Blackburn of Bucyrus, Ohio, Dennis Blackert of Galion, Ohio, Matthew Blackert of Live Oak, Florida and  Jennifer (Jennifer Cardarelli) Blackert Parker of Stow, Ohio; siblings, Joyce Perry of Cambridge, Ohio and many grandchildren,  great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her infant siblings Donald Leroy and Carol Ann Franklin, her sister Laura M. Lilly and brother Butch Franklin, her first husband John Blackert and husband Gerald Grosscup.

A graveside service is being planned for a later date at the Clarksfield Cemetery.  A special thank you to Grace Hospice and a very special thank you to Lori Hoover, a wonderful caring nurse.  Eastman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
