Loretta T. Whitacre, 92, of Monroeville, Ohio, passed Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, Ohio. She was born January 27, 1928 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Mary E. (Coyne) and Lawrence A. Fisher. Mrs. Whitacre was a lifelong area resident and member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She attended St. Joseph school and graduated from Monroeville High School, class of 1946.
Loretta was a member of the former TOPS club, enjoyed hanging wallpaper, painting, reading, jigsaw puzzles, cherished the time she spent with her family especially with her grandchildren, and had a kindred and compassionate soul.
Mrs. Whitacre is survived by her 4 children; Joe Whitacre of N. Royalton, Jane Straub of Ft. Wayne, IN, Mary Kay (Bob Kennedy) Lesch of Norwalk and Bob( Pat) Whitacre of Monroeville, 12 grandchildren; Eileen Whitacre, Theresa Antal, Diana Lightfoot, Rick Straub, Chris Baker, Patrick Straub, Katie Straub, Jeannine Lesch, Matt Lesch, Joe Lesch, Tony Whitacre and Alysha Whitacre, 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Dale W. Whitacre, son-in-law: Gary Straub, 6 brothers and sisters: Mary Heyman, Elizabeth Miller, Irene Theisen, John Fisher, Charlotte Skinn, Peggy Coe, and one great grandson.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. There will be a limited amount of people admitted inside at a time, but visitors are welcome to visit with family and friends outside of the home where social distancing and current guidelines are more practical. Visitors should be prepared for the possibility of waiting outside and are reminded to bring a mask for entry inside. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville.
