Marcia Lee Sprecher

Marcia Lee Sprecher, 79, of Wellington, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at Fairview Hospital. Born on September 29, 1943 in Columbia Station, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Alice (Frobieter) Coleman. Marcia graduated from Columbia High School and then received a bachelor’s degree in Education from Baldwin Wallace. 

Marcia worked for Yohar Supply for many years as a bookkeeper. The majority of her childhood and adult life were spent in and around Lorain County, before moving to Florida 25 years ago. Four years ago, Marcia relocated back to Ohio. Marcia loved animals; living on a horse farm, she liked to watch her daughter and granddaughter teach others to ride and train horses. She herself also very successfully enjoyed showing horses with her sister throughout the U.S. Marcia raised dogs for several years as well.

A talented cook, Marcia enjoyed baking, cooking, and entertaining guests. Marcia liked going on cruises with friends and family. She also enjoyed boating with her brother, Clayton, and his wife, Marcia’s close friend Janey. Most of all, she cherished time with her family, whether it was quiet get togethers or karaoke parties - She truly loved her family. 

Survivors include her loving husband Norman; children, Scott (Jill) Sprecher, of Valley City; Sherri Sprecher, of Wellington, and Brad (Wendy) Sprecher of Ocala, FL; grandchildren, Madison, Nicholas “Cole”, and Luke; her brother, Clayton (Janey) Coleman of Avon; nephews, Paul and Jeff Coleman; and former daughter-in-law, Janet. Marcia was preceded in death by her sister, Norma and half-sisters, Barb, Janet, Carol and Doris. 

A Celebration of Life and Karaoke Party will be held on April 8, 2023 beginning at 4 p.m. at Winding Road Stables, 17600 Pitts Road, Wellington. Casual attire is requested. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to donate an item in Marcia’s memory to the Lorain County Dog Kennel.
