Marilyn Elizabeth (Hubler) Halada, 81, of Sullivan, Ohio, passed away on July 9, 2022, at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on April 23, 1941, in Ashland, Ohio to the late Nancy (Smith) and Paul Hubler and graduated from Sullivan High School in 1959.
Marilyn enjoyed playing piano and organ and was a lifelong member of Sullivan Congregational Church. At the age of 14, she was a pianist at the church and in the 1970’s became the main pianist. She also served as Choir Director, and President of the Women’s Fellowship Group. Her loving husband and high school sweetheart, Joseph “Bud” Halada also served with her at the church and together they were church Trustees and helped care for the church grounds many times with the assistance of their children and family members.
Marilyn was also a seamstress and had worked for Cresco Manufacturing, the New London Regalia/Fraternal Supply, and she also had her own upholstery business for 10 years.
She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, traveling, and her cats.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Joseph “Bud” Halada; children, Deborah (Kevin) Clemons, Diane (Mark) Sabo, and Danelle (Randy) Jordan all of Ashland, and Denise (Jason) Herte of Sullivan; sister, Pauline Patton of Ashland; grandchildren, Christopher, Jeremy, Ashley, Cameron, Brittany, Nikita, Nicole, Eric, Savannah, Alayna, Tyler, Ryan, Amy, Austin and Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Collin, Anneliese, Blake, Aiden, Chandler, Bailey and Weston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Ethel Bair and Wilbur Hubler.
Marilyn’s visitation will be held at the Sullivan Congregational Church, 503 US-224, Sullivan on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. Her funeral service will be the following day, Wednesday, July 13, 2022, beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor George Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Sullivan Southview Cemetery. Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Ashland County Cancer Association, 1011 E.
