Marilyn (Roskam) VanLoo

Marilyn VanLoo, 91, formerly of Willard, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the Lexington Court Care Center in Mansfield.  She was born on September 5, 1931, in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of the late M.C. and Clara (Sondervan) Roskam. 

Marilyn played organ for over 30 years at the Norwalk 1st Baptist Church, where she was a member.  She was a true musician that could play any tune by ear.  She was a wonderful cook and excellent baker! A true testament to God’s strength of what all she had endured for 91 years.  Marilyn gave the best hugs and the only person who could wear orange lipstick and rock it.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Marilyn is survived by her children, Merry Wiers Gamm of Rockford, MI, Patricia Wiers (Mike) Ziegelhofer of Lexington, OH, Jane VanLoo (Howard) Krikke of Greenwich, OH and Jill VanLoo (Wayne) TerVeen of Blufton, SC; grandchildren, Andy, Megan, Erin, Mike, Ben, David, Alison, Kate, Molly, Emily, Chris, Meredith and J.B.; 29 great-grandchildren and her brother in law, Ralph Kehr and sister in law, Diane Roskam, both of Michigan. 

Marilyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman J. Wiers.  On January 7, 1959, she wed Ray VanLoo who preceded her in death in 2013; in addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Norman Wiers II, son in law, Jim Gamm, granddaughter, Laura and siblings, Ann Kehr, Donald Roskam and Milton Roskam. 

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday May 31, 2023, from 10 – 11:30 a.m., with her Funeral Service beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street, Greenwich, OH 44837.  Burial will follow at the Edwards Grove Cemetery on Edwards Road.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, OH 44805.  Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
