Mark A. McKenzie, of Wellington, died Sunday, November 5, 2017. Born on January 15, 1962, he was the son of Richard McKenzie and Mary Katherine (nee Laughlin) McKenzie. Mark lived most of his life in Wellington and was a 1980 graduate of Wellington High School.
Mark worked as a journeyman tool and die maker for Forest City Technologies in Wellington. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed trapping with his brother Kevin. Mark will be remembered as a genuine and one of a kind man, he was selfless and always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Many who knew him looked to him as a role model. Mark took the most pride in his children and in the adults that they have become.
Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years and high school sweetheart Lori (nee Jordan); children Kyle McKenzie, of North Ridgeville, and Erika (Jacob) Leim, of Las Vegas; grandson Jax; brother Kevin McKenzie; father and step-mother Richard and Patricia McKenzie, half siblings Dana, Tammie, and Dale. Mark was preceded in death by his mother Mary Katherine "Kay" McKenzie.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, November 11, from 11 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 1 p.m. at the Wellington First United Methodist Church, 127 Park Place, Wellington, 44090.
