Mary E. Minnich, 94, of Wellington, died Monday, October 26, 2020, at UH Elyria Memorial Hospital. Born on March 20, 1926 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Ursula (nee Webber) Fox. Mary was a 1944 graduate of Lorain High School. She married Frank Minnich in December of 1944 and they moved to Wellington in 1972.

Mary and her husband bought and operated Strikeout Lanes in Wellington in 1960. She also worked as a hostess at the Elyria Country Club for 33 years. Mary was an active member of St Patrick Catholic Church where she worked as a counter, volunteered with PSR, and helped make subs for selling at the fair. She was also a member of the Wellington Eagles, the VFW, and an officer with the Wellington Golden Age Club. Mary enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, and of course bowling. She looked forward to the Lorain County Fair each year, especially the band doughnuts. In her youth she loved to roller-skate. Most of all Mary cherished time with her family.

Survivors include her children James (Nina) Minnich, of Mount Vernon, Judy (Mark) Selee, of Elyria, Tom (Loretta) Minnich, of Wellington, Ken (Rose) Minnich, of Elyria, and Kevin (Karen) Minnich, of LaGrange; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
