Mary Orth Obituary

Mary Louise Orth passed away peacefully on March 15, 2020 at Norwalk Memorial Home after suffering a stroke in August and battling with pneumonia.  She was 91.

She was born on January 10, 1929 to the late John and Agnes Stacklin in Shelby, Ohio.  She was proceeded in death by her loving husband John “Jack” Orth; her two brothers, Bob and Howard and 3 great grandchildren, Bryson, Zoe and Landon.

She is survived by her 6 children.   Three daughters, Carol Orth of Castro Valley, CA, Nancy (Orth) Acosta of Broken Arrow, OK and Beverly (and Sean) Reynolds of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three sons, Jim (and Debbie) Orth, Donald Orth, both of Norwalk and David Orth of Orangevale, CA.  She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.

Mary was a 1947 graduate of Shelby Sr. High School, where she lived until she met her soulmate, John.  They married on September 15, 1951 and moved to Willard where they had 5 of their children.  They later moved to Norwalk where John and Mary had their 6th child.  Mary was an active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.  She worked with her husband at Norwalk Motor Sales until they retired and sold the business.  During retirement the couple spent their winters in Arizona, often returning to Norwalk for the summer until John’s passing in 2002.

Mary enjoyed going to the Rec Center and luncheons at St. Paul’s with the Seniors Group at the Eagles Club.  She enjoyed cards, soap operas, football and NASCAR.

Mary went to stay at Norwalk Memorial Home in 2018.  She enjoyed the activities and outings there, as well as the wonderful love and care the staff showed her.
