Mary Stocking Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Stocking, 94, of Wellington, died Friday, June 10, 2016 at her home. She was born on January 31, 1922 in Wellington to the late Clarence and Meanotea (nee Leininger) Seitter and was a 1940 graduate of Wellington High School.
Mary lived most of her adult life in New London, where she and her husband, Dar, farmed. She was an avid camper and belonged to the Pace Arrow Camping group and the Family Motor Coach club and they enjoyed attending gatherings with the friends that they made with these organizations. Mary and Dar were also active with the LaGrange Engine Club, and enjoyed snowmobiling in the winter.
Mary is survived by her nephews and nieces Gary (Linda) Barnes of New London, Sharon (Robert) Botsford of TN, Denny (Cathy) Barnes of Medina, Nelson (Karen) Barnes of Amherst, David Stocking of New London, and Cindy (Gene) Farr of Amherst; cousins Annabelle, Ardith, Roy and Lois. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Darwin Stocking in 2007; she was also preceded by her brother Robert.
A graveside service will be held at the Brighton Cemetery , State Rt. 511, on Friday, June 17 beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Mary's memory may be directed to New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Rd, Lorain, 44053.
