Matthew C. Hollar, 28, of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2020 after a brief illness at Ohio Health Shelby Hospital. Matt was born on May 27, 1992 in Mansfield. He graduated from Ontario High School in 2011 and also attended Pioneer Career and Technology Center studying to be an automobile technician.
Matt played soccer while in school and was in the marching band. He loved to race go karts, watch car racing and work on cars. His favorite dirt track drivers were Ryan Markham and Matt Irey. Matt also enjoyed fishing and being with his family. He was a member of Ontario United Methodist church. Matt most recently worked for Sharpnack Chevrolet in Willard.
Survivors include his daughter, Hailey Hollar; mother, Tamela (nee Bemiller) (Robert Yancer) Hollar; girlfriend, Amber Harner and her daughter, Avery; brother, Joshua (Jessica) Hollar; grandparents, Louis (Diane) Bemiller and Rita Winkler; aunts and uncles, Andrew Winkler, Patricia Bemiller, Gary Bail, Eric (Connie) Bail and Steve (Chris) Bail; nephews, Peyton and Isaiah and niece, Journee and a host of other relatives and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Orval and Betty Bemiller; and Bill and Willa Bail and special aunt, Valeta Miller.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Ontario United Methodist Church, 3540 Park Ave. West, Ontario, OH from 10 a.m. until the time of the 11:30 a.m. service with Pastor Karen Wagenhals officiating. Out of regard for all attendees, visitors are reminded to wear a mask and practice all COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. Burial will follow the service in Ontario Cemetery.
