Mavis A. Dendinger
February 25, 1942 – September 3, 2021
Mavis A. Dendinger, 79, residing in Shelby, passed away Friday evening, September 3, 2021 at Ohio Health Hospital in Mansfield. She was born on February 25, 1942 in Jackson, Kentucky to the late John and Lucy (Lawson) Bryant.
Mavis received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eastern Kentucky and worked as a Kindergarten teacher at South Central Schools. Mavis also owned her own craft business. In her spare time, she enjoyed walking, shopping, going to the beach, gardening and playing Mexican Train at the Norwalk Senior Center. She was a member of the “Get Together” club who enjoyed meeting monthly for fun and fellowship. Mavis’s greatest joy of all was her family especially her children and grandchildren.
Mavis is survived by 2 daughters, Judi (Dan) Traxler of North Fairfield and Lori (Ryan) Teglovic of Shelby; 8 grandchildren, Ashlee, Chasity (Garrett), Kristen, Abbi (Derek), Kari (Ben), Allison, Nick and Molli; 8 siblings, Jean Giralico of New York, Dorothy Auton of Kentucky, Forrest (Stella) Bryant of Kentucky, Frances (Charlie) Rogers of North Carolina, David Bryant of Kentucky, Gerda (Johnnie) Gross of Kentucky, Joan Ellis of Maryland and Raylene (Price) Goldston of Delaware.
In addition to her parents, Mavis is preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Bryant.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 6, 2021 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Edwards Grove Cemetery in Greenwich, OH.
