Obituary
Melissa Jean Babbs, 54, of West Salem, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Akron General Hospital. Born on October 17, 1968, she was the daughter of the late Jacquelin and John Vaught Sr. Melissa lived most of her life in the West Salem area and was a 1988 graduate of North Western High School.
Melissa worked in customer service, most recently at BellStores in West Salem. She was excellent with people and had an infectious personality. Melissa enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, fishing, and attending auctions. She loved family gatherings, and game nights. Recently Melissa was able to travel to the Caribbean for a dream vacation just prior to her leukemia diagnosis. She will be lovingly remembered for her joyous and fun personality.
Survivors include her loving husband Joseph Babbs; children, Dana (Richard) Frcka, of Sullivan, Britny (Donald) Keene, of Princeton, WV, Kayley (Danny) Babbs, of West Salem, Ty Babbs, of Wooster, and Nikole Babbs, of Bradenton FL; 12 grandchildren; and siblings John (Tina) Vaught Jr, and Wendy Berger.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Norton-Eastman Funeral Home is assisting the family with services and expressions of sympathy may shared online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
