Obituary
Michael George Waite, 70, of LaGrange, died Friday, May 5, 2023 at home. Born on July 2, 1952 in Oberlin, he was the son of the late Willard and Mary Catherine (nee Rautenbusch) Waite. Michael was a 1970 Wellington High School graduate. He then obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science from Defiance.
Michael was a merchandizer with Rite Aid for many years, traveling across the state and country. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan especially when it came to his beloved Tribe. Michael also enjoyed travel and was able to visit Russia when he was in college.
Survivors include his sisters, Rita (Buck) Youngless, Christine (Jeff) Park, and Arlene Waite, all of Wellington, and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his brother, John.
Friends and family will gather for a memorial service on Monday, May 15, beginning at 2 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington.
