Mildred J. Woodruff, 99, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2020 at Gaymont Nursing Center in Norwalk. She was born on September 14, 1921 in Sandusky to the late Ernest J. and Alma B. (Papke) Erdman.
Mildred loved reading, crossword puzzles, and writing letters and enjoyed drawing in grade school. In her 90’s she revisited those artistic pursuits gaining the interest of the Norwalk Reflector in an article they published a few years ago featuring her drawings at Gaymont Nursing Center in Norwalk.
Mildred was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk. She had taught Sunday School at Zion Lutheran Church in Sandusky and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue.
Survivors include her children, Peter and Andrea (Foti) Woodruff and Martha (Woodruff) Love; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nephews and a niece.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Woodruff; son, Paul Woodruff; sisters, Betty Robinson and Ruth Snyder and brother, Ernest Erdman Jr.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Bellevue Cemetery, Bellevue, Ohio beginning at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ann Marshall officiating. Guests will be required to wear a mask and practice all social distancing and mass gathering guidelines.
