Norman D. “Pete” Youngless Jr., 68, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away on June 14, 2020 at Fisher Titus Medical Center. He was born on March 13, 1952 to the late Clarabelle (Rice) and Norman D. Youngless Sr. in New London, Ohio and was a lifelong area resident. Pete attended New London and Norwalk schools and worked for Durable Corporation, Norwalk, Ohio and Cleveland Steel Specialty Company in Cleveland, Ohio. He was proud to share with friends that he had built a tennis court for comedian and actress, Minnie Pearl in Tennessee.
Pete was faithfully dependable and loyal to his friends and family and was a loving husband and caretaker. He enjoyed going on walks with his dog, “Alley”, garage sales, playing the Ohio Lottery (Pick 3), and listening to rock and roll, especially Elvis Presley. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and Cleveland sports fan, including the Indians, Cavs, and especially the Browns.
Pete is survived by his loving wife Brenda L. Youngless of Norwalk, Ohio, by his sister, Sharon A. (Thomas) Strader of Norwalk, Ohio, by his nieces and nephews, Demita J. Smith, Heather L. Ringle, Shawn A. Thomas, Brian M. Rupp, Amy M. (Stephen) Brusiel, Thomas E. Strader Jr., and by several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his step-mother, Verneida Youngless.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Norwalk Baptist Church, 2084 US Hwy 20 W, Norwalk, Ohio, where a service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Rich Forman officiating.
