Patricia M. Mirtes/Stieber, 82, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2021. She was a longtime resident of the Carriage House in Norwalk. She was born on March 27, 1939, in Monroeville, Ohio to the late Theodore and Gladys (Greenfelder) Schaffer.
Pat enjoyed helping her children, grandchildren, and others. She was a member of the St. Paul Chorale and a cantor at St. Paul’s. She was a lector and choir member at St. Joseph’s, St. Peter’s, and St. Alphonsus Catholic Churches. Pat graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Liberal Studies in December 1991. Her hobbies were music, scrapbooking, flower gardening, reading, and watercolors.
Survivors include her sons, Michael (Kathy) Mirtes of Norwalk, OH, Bradley (Tonya) Mirtes of Hendersonville, TN; Scott (Christina) Mirtes of Waterville, OH; daughter, Julia Mirtes of Murfreesboro, TN; 13 grandchildren, Gregory Mirtes of Cleveland, OH, Shane (Katie) Mirtes of Barberton, OH, Luke (Sierra) Mirtes of Gallatin, TN, Daniel, Aaron and Noah Mirtes of Hendersonville, TN, Morgan Mirtes of Wakeman, OH, Jack, Anna and Joey Yeager of Waterville, OH, Magnum Kinnard and Charles and Chad Evener of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, Kathleen Schloemer of Willard, OH, Ruth Weisenberger of Norwalk, OH; brothers and sisters in-law, Loretta Schaffer and Ted (Florence) Schaffer of Sandusky, OH, Jack (Pat) Schaffer of Norwalk, OH, William (Joan) Schaffer of Willard, OH, and sister in-law, Terri Schaffer of Norwalk, OH; brothers in-law, LeRoy Miller and F.J. Dick, of Bellevue, OH; great grandchildren, Kaitina and Kyliana Mirtes and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her sisters, Joanne Dick, and Barbara Miller; brothers, Charles, Tom, and James Schaffer; sister in-law, Rosemary Schaffer, brothers in-law, Jack Weisenberger and Norbert Schloemer.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 1322 Settlement Rd. on Friday, October 8, 2021, beginning at 10 a.m. with Fr. Chris Jesudhason officiating with burial to follow in St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
