Peggy Ann Richards, a lifelong Wellington area resident, died Wednesday, May 10, 2023 surrounded by family. Born in Oberlin on February 21, 1947, Peggy was the daughter of the late William and Jeanette (nee Miller) Howk.
She was a 1965 Wellington High School graduate. Peggy worked in the bakery at Sparkle Market in Wellington. She also worked for over 20 years at Forest City in quality control.
Peggy always enjoyed crafting and macrame, gifting items to family and friends throughout the years. She liked bowling and puzzles. An avid reader, Peggy also loved her books.
She is survived by her children, Janet (Roger) Allman, of Elyria, Darrell (Dorothy) Sword, of New London, Lisa (Don) Warling, of Belmont, NC, and Valerie Yates, of New London; grandchildren, Kristina Loucka, Cory Boeglin, Christopher Allman, Brittney Gullett, Delaney Warling, Courtney Melcher, Victoria Mesenburg, D.J. Yates, and Trent Yates; and 14 great grandchildren with one more on the way. Peggy is also survived by her sister, Sue Knapp and her beloved bichon-terrier, Misha. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Howk, sister, Mary Clark, granddaughter, Cora and great granddaughter, Kinsley.
