Philip Paul Dague, 86, a lifelong Wellington resident, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Oak Hill Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. A son of the late Paul and Hazel (nee Beal) Dague, Philip was born on September 26, 1936.
A Press Operator, Philip worked at US Filter in Wellington for 43 years, retiring in 2000. He attended the First United Congregational Church of Wellington and was a Golden Eagle Member of the Wellington Eagles Aerie #2051. Philip enjoyed golfing and fishing. For over 60 years, his favorite pastime was bowling.
Philip will be remembered as the best Dad and sweetest man – they really broke the mold after making him. He lived his life to the fullest and one of the best things about him was that you never knew what was going to come out of his mouth!
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda S. Pleska, of Wellington; grandson, Brian Nathan (Krystal) Pleska; and brother, Roy Dague of San Lorenzo, CA. Philip was preceded in death by his wife, Freda; sister and brother-in-law, Phylis and Bill Regal; and close friend and nephew-in-law, Don Smith.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, March 16 from 10 a.m. until the Memorial Service at noon at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Expressions of sympathy may be shared at: www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
