Procter “Joe” Fox, 93, of Greenwich, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the Laurels of New London. Born on January 25, 1928 in Tyro, he was the son of the late Procter L. and Kate (nee Nordyke) Fox. Joe lived most of his life in the Plymouth, Greenwich, and North Fairfield area.
Joe proudly served in the United States Army. In the early 50’s Joe worked as a team leader with the Shelby Air Force Depot, he then spent several years as a private contractor, and then in 1966 worked for NASA Plum Brook in Sandusky. He later worked in landscaping with his brother, and most recently operated Foxes Fruit Farm. Joe was an active member of the New London Christian Missionary Alliance Church, where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, but most of all he loved working in the dirt in his big gardens and tending his fruit trees.
Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Jean (nee Parrott); children, Mickie (Bob) Ziarko, and Terry (Deb) Conley; 2 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; siblings Ted Fox, Mary Hatton, and Barbara Zulauf. Joe was preceded in death by siblings Kenneth Fox, Richard Fox, John Fox, and Helen Nagel.
In accordance with Joe’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
