Ralph Neville Hyde, 86, of Safety Harbor, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2022. He was born on January 19, 1936, in Wellington, OH, the son of the late Henry Neville and Ethel Leota (Swartz) Hyde.
Ralph was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a long and successful career in law enforcement with the Wellington Police Department (3 ½ years), the Dunedin Police Department (27 years) and Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (3 ½ years), for a total of 34 years in service to his community. Ralph was a devout Christian and his love for the Lord was evident in everything he did. He was a role model and hero to his family. Though he had a tough, intimidating exterior, his personality was warm, loving, caring and compassionate. A true family man, he was fiercely proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Elaine Hyde; his four daughters and their husbands, Dianne and Gary Robinson, Brenda and Don Mast, Donna and Phil Sellers, and Cindy and Todd Belair; his brothers and their wives Roger and Glenda Hyde, Dick and Joyce Hyde, Ted and Linda Hyde; and his brother Wayne Hyde; his nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will hold a private burial service at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
