Ralph Joseph Pierro Jr.

Ralph Joseph Pierro Jr., 86, of Wellington, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Born on July 27, 1937 in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Olive (nee Fenske) and Ralph Joseph Pierro Sr.

Ralph was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Steubenville. He later attended the the University of Steubenville to earn his Bachelor’s Degree. After graduating, he moved to Lorain County to begin his teaching career.  Throughout his career, Ralph taught fourth through eighth grade science and health at both Lorain and Sheffield schools. He also coached track, football, basketball and wrestling. Ralph was also employed by the Lorain County Board of Education for a number of years.

In his free time, Ralph was an avid golfer and also loved bowling and tennis. He loved trailer camping and spending time with his wife on the lake at their camper in Wooster. Ralph also enjoyed time spent with his cats.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Pierro; sister, Ruth Marie Filby; and grandson, Ryan Michael Pierro. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth (nee Dukeman) Pierro; children, Russell (Renata) Pierro, Ralph Michael (Marilyn) Pierro, and Michelle Lynn (David) Wise all of Lorain, and Richard Shawn (Deborah) Pierro of Wooster; his stepson, Steven (Pam) Spurlock of Elyria; grandchildren, Andrew Pierro, Matthew Pierro, Deon Pierro, Asia Pierro, David Wise Jr., Daniel Wise, Vincenzo Pierro and Gianni Pierro; and twelve great grandchildren.
