Richard Jay Foster, 78, of Austintown and formerly of Wellington, died Monday, November 28, 2022 at MetroHeatlh in Cleveland. Born in Colorado, he was the son of the late Paul and Beata (nee Ewell) Foster. Richard grew up in the Norwalk area and later moved to Wellington. After graduation, Richard served in the United States Air Force.
Richard worked for General Motors at their Lordstown plant, where he was a millwright. He was a GM enthusiast and collected many GM items. Richard enjoyed bringing joy to others, and always looked forward to family holiday gatherings. One of his most proud moments was being able to take his mother on a hot air balloon ride before her death in 2012.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Mary (Guy Barker) Foster, of Wellington; nephews, Timothy Foster and Todd (Kim) Foster; great nieces and nephew, Sara, McKenna, Rachel, Adison, and Zachary. Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, including his grandmother, Mildred Ewell; his parents, Paul and Beata Foster; and his brother, James.
