Robert (Bob) Lee Caldwell, 87, of Norwalk, died peacefully at home with family by his side on Saturday, September 26, 2020. Born on August 26, 1933, he was the son of the late William and Stella Caldwell.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army, Tank Company 1st Battalion 2nd Armored Calvary and was a lifetime member of the VFW, Wellington. Upon returning home, he became a partner in the Hough and Caldwell Garage, Brighton; later working for 24 years at Tenneco in Milan, retiring in 1995
Bob was a member of the Brighton Congregational Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards and watching movies. He leaves behind his children, Lorraine (Paul) Burt of Sharpsburg, GA, Lou Ann (Mark) Wiegand of Oberlin, Rob (Gerry) Caldwell of Brighton and Janet (Jake) Ballard of Collins; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by both of his wives, Joyce (née Brennan) in 1978, and Ruth Evelyn (née Seif) in 2019, two sisters, Virginia Mitchell, Mary Pyanowski and two brothers, Carl Caldwell, and William Caldwell, Jr.
A private family graveside service will be held at Brighton Township Cemetery, Pastor John Burgess will officiate. Donation in Robert’s memory may be given to Heartland Hospice, 4807 Rockside Rd, Unite 110, Independence, 44131, or to the Brighton Congregational Church, 22086 State Rt 511, Wellington, 44090.
