Robert Edmon Swiger

Robert Edmon Swiger, 63, of New London died at MetroHealth in Cleveland on January 5, 2019, following an accident. Born on June 16, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, PA to the late Carl David and Virginia (nee Barnhart) Swiger, Robert was a 1975 graduate of South Central High School.

He was a spot welder and a tow motor operator for CVC, formerly Mayflower and Sheller-Globe, for 36 years. Robert was a member of the New London and Norwalk Eagles and a social member of the New London American Legion. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and running dogs. Later in life he could be found tinkering in the garage, working on cars or hog roasting.

Robert spent 43 years with his wife, Barb. He is also survived by his children, Tammy Martin and Rob (Dusty) Swiger, both of New London; grandchildren, Calvin, Sidney and Owen Neal and siblings, David (Julia) Swiger, Thomas (Tammy) Swiger, Jessie (Les) Sheppard, Wendy (Denton) Kerr and William (Melody) Swiger. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary and Samuel Swiger and sisters, Virginia Stenzering and Willa Beutler.

Friends and Family may call on Wednesday, January 9 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W.
